RPG Games With Romance Options That Are Still Popular Today

Many RPGs in the world have managed to keep their relevance and fanbase throughout the years. A lot of time in these RPGs there are romance options that the player can pick from.

Although all these games have romance options, they are implemented differently to suit how the games work. Below you’ll find a list of games that are still popular and easily accessible that feature romance options in them.

We excluded all old titles such as Fable and Jade Empire which are not played much at this time to just give you the more popular/easier to get titles.

10. God Of War Series

Available on: PlayStation and PC
Release year: 2005-2022
Genre: Action Adventure, RPG

God of War is a fantastic series that players have loved for years, ever since its first release in 2005. Although the series doesn’t have any overt romance options there are moments throughout the series where Kratos does have some romantic entanglements.

Many games span this series and it would be too much to detail each of their plots, however, the main story follows Kratos as he seeks revenge for the death of his family. Kratos was tricked by the Gods to kill his family, enraged he goes on a mission to kill the Gods. In the most recent games, God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnorok follows him after this mission and follows him with his son.

Romance isn’t a key feature of this game, however, that doesn’t stop Kratos from hiring escorts or bedding Aphrodite after Hephestus just helped him out. It makes sense, however, after losing his family, he is most likely not interested in having a romantic relationship for a while. He obviously did, as indicated by the most recent games but it does show why there weren’t any clear options in the previous ones.

There are twelve of these villagers that you can romance no matter what gender you chose to be. This means you can date someone the same gender as you and get married to them. You become friends with villagers by talking to them and giving them gifts that they like and once you reach a certain number of hearts with those certain twelve characters you have the option to date them.

These twelve romance options are Alex, Eliott, Harvey, Sam, Sebastian, Shane, Abigail, Emily, Haley, Leah, Maru, and Penny. Of course without mods, dating all of the characters does lead to them being rather upset with you and is separated into different cutscenes for the boys and the girls.
